I’m a junior graphic designer based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Like many creatives, my interest in art began in childhood. Whether I was doodling in the margins of my notebook or designing original characters, I channeled my curiosity for the world around me through art.
My love for technology and art was kickstarted by my first Wacom tablet. Digital art opened my eyes to a vibrant community of creative peers, all looking to make something of themselves in a world saturated by media and a surplus of content. My hours spent in the jailbroken version of PaintTool SAI morphed into hours spent puzzling through the Adobe Suite, tinkering with every program it had to offer.
While attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I studied journalism, interested in how narrative and design intersect. I experimented with different design formats ranging from zine making to motion graphics, always finding a way to weave narrative into the work I produced.
As a recent graduate, I am often flitting from one interest or project to another. I have experience doing freelance design gigs, contract work, and interning at a marketing agency to pick up some much-needed skills. I am a hard worker and a skilled communicator, but above it all, I am eager to learn, often “flailing upwards.”
My current mantra is inspired by writer Anais Nin: “Perfection is static, and I am in full progress.”
In my free time, I like to spend time with my cat, my partner and my family. I value these interactions, however little they are, to foster a sense of gratitude and levity that are the necessary fuel to my creativity.
